The first EVER Pyranha Fest is drawing nearer and nearer.

It’s being held at the Canolfan Tryweryn, National Whitewater Centre based near Bala, North Wales on the 20-21st September.

The courses are now being booked up and below are what’s on offer.

So that there is something for everybody, we’ve neatly ordered the coaching into two categories based on our WW outfitting:

The Connect 30 workshops are for paddlers happy on grade 3 with a good roll and the Rapid Plus sessions are for boaters happy on grade 2 with an ok roll.

Connect 30 workshops

Freeride – returning to Pyranha’s ‘Play the River’ roots, this session focuses on spicing up your river running with some funky rockspins and phat grinds. Come prepared for an influx of style…

Boofs and Flares – for those of you looking to hit the steeps this winter, this workshop will massively improve your performance, helping you take drops with big air and big style…

Real Life Rescue – your mates will thank you for coming along to this – a chance to take the basic rescue tools and apply them in some of the modern, dynamic situations you find on the river. Play safe folks!

Freestyle Masterclass – Looking to maximise your freestyle performance or make the leap to the next level? Then let Pete Catterall, GB Freestyle team coach and all round top chap help you on your way…

White Water Warriors Masterclass – The Warriors need no introduction and this is your chance to boat with them, pick their brains and be coached by some of the world’s best. There is sure to be high demand for this one so book early to avoid disappointment!

Modern Group Dynamics – Boat with the same group regularly? Fed up with one person always ‘leading’? Want to incorporate the flow of the river into your group dynamic?
This workshop will help you move away from traditional leadership and develop a fluid, modern style of group paddling.

Rapid Plus Workshops

Getting the Balance – learn to stop the wobble and feel way more comfortable on the river.

All about Accuracy – Move away from the idea of ‘strokes’ and towards greater understanding of how and why boats move around.

Take Timing – develop the perfect timing that makes the pros look effortless.

All sessions run from 9.30 to 12.30 Saturday and Sunday and meet at the Tom Parker Coaching Gazebo at the top site. Equipment isn’t provided, although demo boats will be available.

All sessions cost £35 and you’ll need to pre-book your place by filling in one of the Pyranha Fest coaching booking forms. Download the Pyranha Fest coaching booking form here

Send it back as soon as you can to guarantee a place.

Send it to: Tom Parker Coaching and Guiding, 22 Dale Street, Menai Bridge, Anglesey, LL59 5AH.

So if you like the sound of getting in on the action and being coached by Team Pyranha paddlers then you know what to do. Decide on the class, fill in the form and send off to Tom who is heading up the coaching.

There will also be a lot of activities and workshops being held throughout the afternoon as well so it will be a great weekend to come along to and talk boating.
