August Bank Holiday weekend saw probably the first Nottingham Squirtfest (for the uninitiated, this is not as iffy as it sounds – ed.) The event, put together by Cheshire gentleman scholar Pete Cornes, saw about 40 odd denizens of the deep gather at Holme Pierrepont, near Nottingham.
The whole event went off rather well, with excellent weather, a smashing curry, an ‘Old School’ Reunion and the inaugural Downtime ‘King of the Concrete’ competition, won, convincingly yet controversially by Mr Cornes himself.

It’s not all about sinking, you know.
